Restoration of Stained Glass circa 1889
The stained glass in the Shrine of Santa Rita located in Vail Az. was salvaged from a Methodist Church demolished in Tucson at the turn of the century
and then used at the new church built in Vail Az.in 1934. All the panels needed restoring, including the reproduction
of two panels that had been removed and replaced with slab glass. Old photos of the original missing glass were used to recreate the reproduced stained glass windows , including one panel
with a painted bible in the center of the window. Below is a series of images showing the process.
